Another Onam is over. It is estimated unofficially that Malayalis drank liquor worth of over Rs 110 crores (20 million USD) during Onam. This takes into account only the sales from government owned Kerala Beverages Corporation. If we take into account the sales in bar hotels, illicit liquor the total sales will be more than double.
